Written by Nick Lang and Matt Land
Music and Lyrics by Jeff Blim
Directed by Ryan Hull
July 6th and 7th at 6:00pm
Auditioners should arrive no later than 6pm and bring a list of conflicts between now and October 18th. All levels are welcome to participate, headshots and resumes are welcome, but not required.
Auditions will have possibly three components to them:
Singing - The format will be acapella only; either a simple song (no longer than 1 minute) of your choice or one of the following: Happy Birthday or Row, Row, Row Your Boat. We may match pitches with either a pitch pipe or a keyboard.
Reading - Please select a monologue that speaks to you the most from the sides provided here. Anyone can read any character’s monologue and or any character in the scene. The scene will be used to see how actors read opposite one another.
Moving - A simple movement block to determine mobility. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear to be able to move in.
Synopsis: Everything in Hatchetfield seemed normal until people began singing... Then, they began dancing... And now, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire city. It’s up to Paul (an average guy who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to stop this musical apocalypse and fight for humanity’s future. The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals is a horrifying new comedy musical premiering in Los Angeles from StarKid Productions, the creators of A Very Potter Musical and Holy Musical, B@man!
If you wish to audition, but are not available for the scheduled dates, please contact the theater BEFORE JULY 6th to make other arrangements.
